Great Dane Rescue Groups
Many great dane rescue groups provide training for their animals, but cannot show you picture galleries of the dogs' parents.
Earlier, these dogs were used as fighter dogs, as well as for hunting wild boar. Actually, the breed has nothing to do with Denmark and was developed in Germany. Nowadays, this is a very sweet, loving and devoted companion with a highly dignified and noble appearance.

This breed can be traced back to the time of ancient Egyptians and Babylonians. They are likely to bear some relation to the Tibetan Mastiff, and might have arrived in Europe with the Alans that invaded Europe in 407 A.D.
